Genome analysis in Neogobius melanostomus, Periophthalmus magnuspinnatus, Scartelaos histophorus, Boleophthalmus pectinirostris, and Periophthalmodon schlosseri revealed the presence of both atp4a and atp4b subunit orthologues in all species in a conserved genomic loci organization.
